⚠️ Beta Feature Notice: Takeoffs are currently in early Beta. Features will be added, changed, or removed without notice as we continue to develop and refine this tool based on user feedback. Some of the things described in this guide are not yet available.

Note: This feature is available for Professional workspaces only.

Takeoffs are aerial view-based measurements and project planning tools designed for landscape professionals. They help you accurately measure property dimensions, calculate areas, and create professional estimates.

What Takeoffs are used for:

  • Accurate measurements - Measure lawns, planter beds, hardscape areas, driveways, and other landscape features
  • Material calculations - Calculate square footage for sod, mulch, pavers, and other materials
  • Project scoping - Quantify work areas for accurate labor estimates
  • Professional proposals - Create detailed, measurement-based proposals for clients
  • Installation planning - Plan material orders and crew assignments with precise dimensions

How Takeoffs work:

Takeoffs use aerial imagery from satellite views or your own uploaded images. You draw and measure different areas, classify what type of work or material applies to each space, and the tool calculates totals automatically.

Who should use Takeoffs:

  • Landscape contractors preparing project bids
  • Maintenance companies calculating service areas
  • Installation crews planning material orders
  • Project managers scoping labor requirements
  • Anyone needing accurate property measurements for professional estimates

Where to find Takeoffs: Professional workspaces have a "Takeoffs (Beta)" section in the left navigation panel of the dashboard.

Current capabilities:

  • Draw and measure areas with precise square footage
  • Measure linear distances (fence lines, borders, edges)
  • Classify areas by type (turf, mulch, hardscape, planter beds, etc.)
  • Multiple measurement units (imperial and metric)
  • Automatic calculation of totals
  • Save and organize multiple takeoff projects

Coming in future releases:

  • Custom pricing and rate cards for instant estimates
  • Irrigation system measurements and head counts
  • AI-assisted automatic measurements
  • Material quantity calculators with waste factors
  • Professional PDF export with client-ready reports
