Understanding a plant's requirements and characteristics helps you make informed design decisions. The plant details panel shows you everything you need to know about size, care, growing conditions, and where to buy.
- Click the Plant icon on the right side of your screen
- Find the plant you're interested in (search or browse)
- Click the "Details" button on the plant thumbnail
- Review the plant information displayed
What you'll see in plant details
Design Images
Each plant includes multiple design images showing different angles, seasons, or maturity levels. This lets you create more accurate and realistic landscape visualizations. Click any design image to add that specific version to your design. Click the heart icon to add the plant to your favorites.
Free vs Premium Plants All users (including those on free plans) have complete viewing access to the entire plant library and all plant details. However, adding premium plants to your design requires a paid subscription.
Plant Information
- Common name and Scientific name
- Plant type (Shrubs & Roses, Shade Trees, etc.)
- Height and width at maturity
- USDA Hardiness zones where the plant thrives
- Water requirements (Low, Medium, High)
- Sun requirements (Full Sun, Partial Shade, Full Shade)
- Plant layer Classifies the plant based on it's size at maturity (Canopy, Understory, Ground Level, Detail)
- Bloom season (when applicable)
Description
Detailed information about the plant's appearance, growth habits, best uses, and special features.
Videos (when available)
Short videos showing the plant in different seasons or providing care tips.
Retailers (when available for your location)
Local nurseries and garden centers that carry the plant, with links to check inventory or shop online.
Found in Plant Collections
Shows which curated collections feature this plant, making it easy to discover similar plants or complementary options.
