A look back at where SimplyScapes started. These are the milestones from our first year, summarized. The features here have grown a lot since.
Plant Library
Our very first feature: a browsable plant library with category pages, photo galleries, water-needs filtering, and detailed plant pages showing care information alongside companion and comparable plants. Later, we added eco-region-based plant recommendations.
Visual Designer
The Visual Designer arrived. After an early-access preview, it opened to everyone in June 2022, with a designs list, a create-design flow, and dedicated steps for your base map, plants, and spaces. You could duplicate and delete designs and manage your own materials.
Sign-in & Accounts
Accounts, sign-in, and a guided, multi-step signup built for both homeowners and professionals.
Workspaces & Team
Company profiles with member and team settings for professional accounts.
Billing & Plans
Our first paid plans: subscriptions with monthly or yearly billing, checkout, invoices, and self-service cancellation, plus an in-app upgrade prompt when a free plan reached its limit.
2023 · Subscriptions & Plant Search
Subscription plans matured, the plant library got easier to search, and the designer grew more capable.
