AI usage

Understand how AI generations work in SimplyScapes. The Free plan includes 3 AI generations and paid plans include unlimited use under fair use.

Each time AI creates a new version of your design, it uses one AI generation. This article explains how that works and what happens when a Free plan runs out.

How AI generations work

  • Generating uses one generation. Each time AI reimagines your design, whether from a template or your own prompt, it uses one. Browsing your past results, comparing before and after, and setting a result as your background don't use anything.
  • The Free plan includes 3 AI generations. That's enough to try AI on your own space and see what it can do.
  • Paid plans include unlimited AI generations. On a paid plan you can keep generating as much as you need, within fair use.
  • Usage is shared across your workspace. If you work as part of a team, everyone's AI use draws from the same workspace.

When a Free plan runs out

Once you've used your 3 free generations, SimplyScapes lets you know right in the AI tab. Your existing designs and results are never affected. You just won't be able to generate a new one until you upgrade.

To keep going, you'll see an option to upgrade to unlimited AI right from that message.

Frequently asked questions

What does "fair use" mean on a paid plan? Paid plans are built for real design work, not automated or bulk generation. Normal use, even heavy iterating on client designs, is well within it. We'd only reach out if usage looked automated or far outside typical patterns.

Do I use a generation when one fails? No. If a generation doesn't complete, it doesn't count.

Does comparing or saving a result use a generation? No. Only creating a new version uses one. Browsing, comparing before and after, and choosing which one to keep are all free.

How many AI generations do I get on the Free plan? Three. It's a great way to try AI before upgrading for unlimited use.

Where can I see my plan? Your plan and billing details live in your account settings. For plan and payment questions, see Billing & Account.
