How do I add a client?

Add a new landscaping client in minutes with this step-by-step guide to contacts, property addresses, and residential or commercial setup.

Clients are available on Professional workspaces only.

Adding a client creates a record where you can keep their contact details, their properties, and their designs together. Here's how to add one.

Step 1: Open the Clients area

  1. In the left navigation panel of your dashboard, select Clients.
  2. Click the Create Client button.

Step 2: Choose the client type

At the top of the form, choose whether this is a:

  • Residential client, an individual or household.
  • Commercial client, a company or business.

For a residential client, the client name fills in automatically from the primary contact's first and last name. If you want to use a different name, click the lock icon next to the Client Name field to unlock it and type your own.

For a commercial client, type the company name in the Client Name field.

Step 3: Add the primary contact

Fill in the details for the main person you'll be working with:

  1. Enter their First Name and Last Name.
  2. Enter their Contact Email.
  3. Enter their Contact Phone Number, and pick the phone type (for example, Mobile) from the dropdown next to it.

For a residential client, you'll need at least a first name, last name, or client name before you can save.

Step 4: Add a property address (optional)

If you already know the property address, enter it in the address fields:

  • Address line 1 (start typing and pick the matching address from the suggestions)
  • Address line 2, if needed
  • Country, City, State, and ZIP Code

You can skip this for now and add a property later from the client's record. See Adding properties to a client.

Step 5: Add a description (optional)

Use the Description box to jot down any notes about the client, the job, or anything you want to remember.

Step 6: Create the client

Click Create Client. You'll be taken straight to the new client's record, where you can add more contacts, add more properties, and see their designs.

Editing a client later

Open any client from the Clients list to make changes. On the client's record you can update the name, switch the client type, edit the description, and manage their contacts and properties. Changes save automatically as you go.

Adding more contacts

A client can have more than one contact. On the client's record, find the Contacts section and use its add button to add another person, then fill in their name, email, and phone.
