Adding properties to a client

Attach one or more property addresses to a client and view each site on a satellite map before you start designing the landscape.

Clients are available on Professional workspaces only.

Each client can have one or more properties, which are the addresses you're designing for. Every property shows a satellite map of the site so you can see it at a glance.

Add a property to a client

  1. Open the client from your Clients list.
  2. Find the Properties section on the client's record.
  3. Click the add button on the Properties section.
  4. Enter the property address:
    • Start typing in the first address field and pick the matching address from the suggestions.
    • Add an Address line 2 if you need it.
    • Set the Country, City, State, and ZIP Code.
  5. Your changes save automatically.

You can repeat this to add as many properties as a client needs. Each one shows up in the client's Properties list.

The satellite map view

Open a property (click its address in the Properties list) to see it on a satellite map. The map is centered on the property address and zoomed in close so you can see the site from above, which is handy for getting a feel for the layout, the roof, driveways, and planting areas before you start designing.

The satellite (overhead) map appears on the individual property page. The client record's top banner shows a street-level view of the location instead, so you get both perspectives depending on where you're looking.

If a satellite view is available, you can also open the location in Google Maps using the link below the map.

If the address hasn't been filled in yet, or a map isn't available for that location, you'll see a placeholder instead of the satellite view. Add or correct the address to load the map.

Edit or remove a property

  • To edit a property, open it from the Properties list and change the address fields. Changes save automatically.
  • To remove a property, open it and use the delete option, or select it in the Properties list and choose Delete.

From a property to a design

Once you know what a property looks like from above, you're ready to design it. You can start a new design for the client from the Designs section of their record. If you need accurate measurements and material estimates for the site, that's what Takeoffs are for. See Finding a client's designs for how designs connect back to a client.
