How do I cancel my subscription?

Cancel your SimplyScapes subscription in under a minute. Follow the exact steps, keep your paid features until the period ends, and confirm it went through.

You can cancel your SimplyScapes subscription at any time, right from your account. This article walks you through exactly where to click, what happens after you cancel, and how to confirm it went through. Canceling only takes a minute, and you stay in control the whole way.

Before you cancel

A few things to know first

  • Canceling stops future charges. You keep access to your paid features until the end of the billing period you've already paid for.
  • Canceling does not automatically refund your most recent payment. If you think you're owed a refund, see How can I request a refund?.
  • Your designs, projects, and workspace data stay saved in your account. Nothing is deleted when you cancel.
  • You can resubscribe any time by logging back in and choosing a plan again.

If your last payment failed: you'll need to resolve that payment before you can cancel. Reach out to us and we'll help you sort it out.

How to cancel your subscription

  1. Go to simplyscapes.com and log in.
  2. Click your workspace name in the upper-left corner of the window.
  3. Select "Billing" from the menu.
  4. Click "Manage subscriptions." This opens your secure billing portal in a new view.
  5. Click "Cancel subscription."
  6. (optional) Choose a reason for canceling. This step is optional and you can skip it.
  7. Click "Continue to cancellation."
  8. Click "Cancel subscription" one more time to confirm.

That's it. Once you see the confirmation, your subscription is set to end and no further payments will be taken.

How to confirm your cancellation worked

You don't have to guess. Here are three easy ways to check:

  1. Your billing page. Go back to your workspace menu and open "Billing." Your status will read Canceled, and you'll see a note telling you the date your paid features stay active until.
  2. Your email. We send a confirmation email when a subscription is canceled. If you don't see it within a few minutes, check your spam or promotions folder.
  3. No renewal reminder. You won't receive an upcoming-renewal notice, because there's no renewal scheduled.

If none of those show up and you're not sure the cancellation went through, contact us at support@simplyscapes.com and we'll confirm it for you.

What happens after I cancel?

Right away

  • No future charges will be made to your payment method.
  • You keep full access to all your paid features until the end of your current billing period. Nothing changes on the day you cancel.

At the end of your billing period

  • Your workspace switches to the Free plan.
  • Paid features (like premium design tools and Takeoffs) become unavailable. Takeoffs is where you measure a property and estimate materials, and it's part of a paid plan.
  • Your designs, projects, and workspace data stay saved. You can still log in and view your work.
  • You can resubscribe any time to get your paid features back.

If you canceled because a payment failed

  • Because a charge was already attempted before you canceled, our billing system may retry that one earlier payment automatically.
  • These retries are only for the payment that failed before cancellation, not for any new charge.
  • To avoid this, resolve the failed payment before you cancel, or contact us and we'll help.

Can I get a refund when I cancel?

Canceling on its own does not issue a refund. Depending on when you cancel and your plan, you may be eligible to request one, for example if you were charged twice for the same period or something clearly went wrong. See How can I request a refund? for eligibility windows and the exact steps.

Still seeing a charge after canceling?

If a charge shows up after you canceled, it's almost always our billing system retrying a payment that had failed before your cancellation, not a new subscription charge.
